Mason joined Carlson Private Capital Partners in 2023. Prior to Carlson, he was a member of the Private Market Advisory Group at Lazard, based in Minneapolis. During his tenure at Lazard, Mason played a pivotal role in several M&A transactions within the business services and industrial sectors. His responsibilites included crafting marketing materials, constructing financial and valuation analyses, and conducting comprehensive due diligence. Mason is a graduate of the University of St. Thomas, where he earned his B.A. in Financial Management.

Where did you grow up? I'm from Elk River, MN, a quick 45-minute drive north of Minneapolis. My childhood was filled with sports like soccer and basketball, as well as winter skiing adventures. Some of my fondest memories center around our family's cabin in Northern Minnesota, where there was always a project waiting for us. Whether it was fixing something up, or enjoying the lakes, hitting the golf course, snowmobiling, or simply exploring and seeking out fun adventures.

Perfect Saturday My ideal Saturday begins with securing the coveted first tracks with my wife and friends at our favorite ski resort, followed by lunch to share stories and relive the exhilarating moments from the morning. As evening approaches, my wife and I return home to cook up a delicious meal together. We might invite friends over to watch the Minnesota Wild game or opt for a quieter night in and watch one of our favorite movies.

Early Jobs and What Did You Learn/LikeBest? In my early years, I held a variety of jobs, ranging from palletizing food to landscaping. However, it was my role as a boat captain that left the most profound impact on me. It taught me the art of adapting to unexpected situations and consistently upholding a positive attitude. Above all, navigating Lake Minnetonka underscored the importance of networking, as my interactions as a captain opened doors to new connections and exciting opportunities.
